Programs
Wayne State offers students vibrant opportunities to encounter worlds beyond our campus. Providing instruction in 15 languages, our faculty specializes in areas such as linguistics, popular culture, cinema studies, history, ancient to postmodern literature and cultures, religious studies and more.
A foundation in language learning helps students improve their English skills, provides intercultural competency and opens the door to the world of another culture. Through the language sequence, students truly become global citizens.
- Basic language courses
In the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, all students are required to take two semesters of language (1010 and 1020) and they can take 2010 as a global learning university general education requirement.
Students who entered Wayne State before fall 2018 may be subject to the previous requirements of three semesters of language (1010, 1020 and 2010).
