Listservs
The CLAS Marketing Team does not manage or support departmental listservs or email accounts. Contact the Help Desk for support and assistance.
To request a transfer of ownership for your department's existing listserv, the designated contact (list owner) for the said listserv should contact the Help Desk requesting its transfer to the new designated contact within your department. If the original list owner is no longer employed by the university, be sure to inform the Help Desk when contacting them.
For more information on listserv features or help, you may contact the Help Desk or visit Help Desk Listserv page for how-tos and tips.
Group email accounts
Group email addresses, e.g., department@wayne.edu, can be applied for by submitting a GroupID request.
For help with email, contact the Help Desk or see the email help section.

- Newsletters
Email
The CLAS Marketing Team offers two formats for digital (email) newsletters: Full newsletter and News update newsletter. These guides will explain the differences between the two formats and what's required for each. Once your content is prepared, you'll send this to the CLAS Marketing Team for design and sending (handled by our Philanthropy and Alumni Relations Team).
Print
The CLAS Marketing Team does not design print newsletters in lieu of the email formats available. However, we can recommend vendors to contract with you or review and help edit your own designed print newsletter. Note: Unless you have previous graphic design experience, we do not recommend designing your own print newsletter as it's unlikely to be approved for distribution.
- Media interviews
Faculty are encouraged to accept invitations for media interviews on stories and news within their scholarly expertise, i.e. request for a professor of political science professor to comment on the latest election results.
Media interviews are a great and free promotional outlet for the university, college and the faculty member's body of work. One Christian Science Monitor interview/article garnered more than 5,000,000 views, roughly equivalent to about $4,300 in advertising dollars.
Media training is available by appointment, free of charge, by the Office of Marketing and Communications.
- Official WSU and CLAS merchandise
Wayne State has several options for ordering WSU-licensed apparel. Contact the WSU licensing director for more information. See licensing and branded merchandise for more information on promotional product ordering.
- Photography and video services
Photography
Photography services (portrait, event, location, promotional, environmental and architectural photographs) are offered by approved WSU contract photographers. Visit the services page to select a photographer and schedule a booking.
Video
For video production services (including streaming), contact Wayne State's University Television (UTV) (well in advance) to discuss your project/event and have it added to the production calendar, ensuring enough time for your pre-production planning.
- Public relations and editorial services
