The Career Insights panel displays dynamic occupational data sampled from internet job postings. The panel anchors to the bottom of a program landing page.

Careers list

This list represents a sampling of potential careers/occupations for the major. Occupations can be added/removed.

Top skills list

This content shows what employers are listing as skills in the region for the listed occupations.

Career Coach

The Career Coach is an external page that displays an expanded view of the occupation that includes additional salary data, outlook, general job description and live job postings.

The tool also includes an interest assessment for prospective students, a career directory, program directory and résumé builder.

How is the assessment tool accessed?

The assessment tool is accessed from wayne.edu > Admissions & Aid > Explore careers or wayne.edu/admissions/career-insights. It can also be accessed directly from the Career Coach (wayne.lightcastcc.com/assessment).

Data

How are salary figures calculated?

These figures are derived from the Bureau of Labor Statistics. See more about compensation model.

How are job postings compiled?

Job postings featured are scraped from over 45,000 career and job websites and are filtered based on a number of factors such as education level, experience, location, full-time/part-time, skills and more. See more about the job posting analytics methodology and complete list of data sources

How are titles/occupational data organized?

Occupational data and titles are matched to O*NET codes (U.S. Department of Labor).
