Mathematics Resource Center (MRC)

The Mathematics Resource Center (MRC) will re-open for tutoring on Monday September, 16th at 11:00 am.

 

The Mathematics Resource Center is a free, walk-in tutoring service provided by the Department of Mathematics for all Wayne State University students currently enrolled in mathematics classes at this university. We also provide assistance to incoming WSU students as well as alumni that are trying to obtain placement in WSU math courses at the calculus 1 level and below. 

Hours

  • Monday – Thursday: 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. (In-person drop-in/NO Appointment Needed & Online by appointment)
  • Monday - Thursday: 5:30 to 7 p.m. (online by appointment only)
  • Friday: 11 p.m. to 2 p.m. (In-person drop-in/NO Appointment Needed & Online by appointment)

Important: The MRC will be closed during university closures and WSU's designated Mental Health Days. Make-up days for holidays will not be followed.

Location: Department of Mathematics: 1198 Faculty/Administration Building (FAB).

Jobs

Math majors/minors are encouraged to apply for tutoring positions in the MRC if they have satisfied the following criteria:

  • Overall and mathematics GPA of 3.0
  • Completed MAT 2020 before applying

STEM majors in other areas may apply as well if mathematics is heavily utilized in their field of study, they satisfy the criteria above, and they have a strong background in statistics. However, preference will be given to those that have a double major or minor in mathematics.
