Wayne State's linguistics graduate certificate program prepares graduate or post-baccalaureate students whose academic and professional pursuits with a fundamental understanding of how language works the key faculty of human cognition and intelligence for applications in artificial intelligence (AI), security and strategic intelligence.

About the program

The Graduate Certificate in Linguistics provides basic training to graduate students of various disciplines or students already with a B.A. degree who want to develop an understanding of how language is structured, acquired and used and/or whose career development would benefit from some background in linguistics.

Admission to this program is contingent upon admission to the Graduate School. Current Wayne State University graduate students can add the certificate to their current degree by completing the Change of Graduate Status Request Form .
