Master of Arts in Spanish (Romance Languages)

The Spanish-speaking community in Southwest Detroit is a vibrant cultural hub in the city. Spanish speakers are in demand across the U.S. in areas including the health professions, business, the legal field and government and non-profit sectors. Our master of arts in Spanish provides advanced training in language, literature, and culture and helps increase your qualifications for a whole range of jobs.

Students who complete the program gain skills in translation, textual analysis, and intercultural competency. Applicants must demonstrate competency in Spanish.

Previous graduates of our program hold a variety of high school and college-level teaching positions and have gone on to receive a Ph.D. and obtain full-time positions at the University of Michigan, Oakland University, and Pepperdine. Our graduates have also obtained employment with private-sector employers.
