The Department of English offers degrees that prepare students to succeed in any career and to enter any graduate or professional program.

Repesenting the rich breadth of English studies, our faculty specialize in five key fields: composition and rhetoric, creative writing, film and media, linguistics, and literature. As students learn to analyze and create texts and media of all kinds, they gain essential skills that allow them to chart their futures and to change the world.
