About us
The Department of Anthropology at Wayne State University is intellectually vibrant, offering a strong sense of community with broad training across anthropological subfields and a strong applied focus. We welcome student interest in our B.A. major and our M.A. and Ph.D. degrees.
Our 14 full-time faculty provide a close-knit and intellectually challenging environment with attention to students' individualized needs. We are proud of our many recent alumni who are placed in professional positions in industry, government and the nonprofit sector, as well as in academic institutions such as colleges and museums. We host several events during the academic year that are designed to enrich students' academic research and professional training.
