How can CLAS Research Support Services help me?
Research Support Services maintains staffing for pre and post-award services. For tasks that you would find supported within your department and at the institutional level, we provide support and work with the departmental and institutional staff. Additional services include:
- Preparing proposal packages and assist with budget development
- Development and execution of training programs for staff and faculty on topics related to proposal development and submitting
- Financial management assistance on existing awards, but we also develop and share tools that help staff and faculty with day to day administration of sponsored awards
- Working directly with departmental administrative support staff, faculty, representatives in other departments and colleges, and groups external to the university as needed to support proposal development and award management

How do I find funding for my research?
CLAS Research Services is available to personally assist in locating funding resources for research. We will work with you to locate sponsors that are a good match for your research activity based on knowledge of the organizational mission, new initiatives of sponsors and the university, and your specific program goals for a research program. How do I find needed proposal information?
CLAS Research Services compiles data and resources commonly used within proposals or requested by a sponsor. Information on campus programs, equipment, centers and institutes, student demographics, WSU's research portfolio, and frequently requested resources may be accessed contacting CLASResearch@wayne.edu.

How do I submit an external proposal to a sponsor?
CLAS Research Services is available to assist in administrative information and assistance in proposal development. You may contact your unit grant administrator or notify us you would like assistance with institutional information, budget development, Cayuse uploading and routing, clarification regarding proposal instructions or university policy and procedure.

How do I submit an internal proposal for funding?
CLAS Research Services is available to assist in administrative information and assistance in proposal development. You may contact your unit grant administrator call 313-577-2543 for assistance with available internal funding programs, budget development, Cayuse uploading and routing, clarification regarding proposal instructions or university policy and procedure for internal funding programs.
Please permit time in advance of the internal proposal due date for processing (typically 3 to 5 days). The Cayuse version of the proposal is reviewed and approved online, but there is processing time at each approval level associated with reading the content and ensuring that the required components and approvals are included. For multi-disciplinary/department/institute/center proposals, allow additional time for the units to review the proposal.

How do I report a research facilities need?
Research Support Services (RSS) coordinates information and services within research facilities used by the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences.
If you have an emergency, immediately contact Campus Police at 313-577-2222.
