Third Annual Grad. Research Day Awardees

The Wayne State Department of Physics and Astronomy hosted the Graduate Research Day on Thursday, April 5.

Many physics graduate students presented a poster (describing their research) to peers and faculty. There were a total of five oral presentations given and 18 posters presented.Dr. Sultana Nahar, a prominent researcher at the Ohio State University and a former WSU Physics graduate (Ph.D. 1987), was the guest speaker.

The Best Poster Awards were given to: Ehab Abd Elhamid, Kulwinder Dhindsa, Chamath Kottachchi and Humeshkar Nemala. Congratulations to all the presenters and winners!

Graduate Research day gives students experience at presenting their research in a conference-like setting and provides students with insight into life in physics beyond graduate school.
