Sixth Annual WSU Undergraduate Physics Research Conference

The 6th Annual Wayne State University Undergraduate Physics Research Conference is hosted by the Society of Physics Students (SPS). We invite you to present a poster describing your undergraduate physics research.

Cash prizes will be awarded made possible by the George and Eveline Beard Endowed fund.

This conference will take place Friday, November 16 from 2:30 to 7 p.m. (with an optional planetarium show from 7 to 8 p.m.) and will be held in the Wayne State University Physics Research Building, 666 W. Hancock, Detroit, Michigan,
Room 245.

  • Welcome remarks: Prof. and Chair Ratna Naik Wayne State University, Department of Physics & Astronomy
  • Plenary talk by Prof. Xiang-Qiang (Rosie) Chu Wayne State University, Department of Physics & Astronomy
  • Keynote talk by Professor Mark Baskaran Wayne State University, Department of Geology
  • WSU Physics Research Lab Tours, a poster session, and dinner will follow
  • The event will conclude with an optional Planetarium show
