Physics community stays connected virtually during stay-at-home order

As everything has been shifting online, so have the Department of Physics and Astronomy's weekly Tea Times. Started by the Society for Underrepresented Physics Educators and Researchers (SUPER), the newest club in the department, Tea Time creates a space where undergraduate and graduate students are able to get together with faculty for tea and treats every Thursday evening.

Moving this hangout online has allowed the department to hang onto a familiar aspect of life before COVID-19. It offers a break in a busy week where the students and faculty get the opportunity to maintain the connections created during the year. In times of solitude and quarantine, the connections between peers have never been more important.
