BOG recognizes one of our own faculty with scholarly achievements

Five Wayne State University professors who have distinguished themselves with significant scholarly achievements were recently honored with the 2019 WSU Board of Governors Faculty Recognition Awards.

The awards are offered annually to full-time faculty members who make outstanding contributions to scholarship and learning. Each recipient receives a citation from the board, an engraved wall plaque and a monetary award.

This year's recipients include one of our own: Claude Pruneau, professor in the Department of Physics and Astronomy, College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, was honored for the publication of Data Analysis Techniques for Physical Scientists (Cambridge University Press, September 2017).

Pruneau provides a comprehensive, rigorous and accessible introduction to data analysis for particle and nuclear physicists working on collider experiments, and outlines the concepts and techniques needed to carry out forefront research with modern collider data in a clear way.

The Board of Governors recognized Pruneau for his contributions to Wayne State and the Department of Physics and Astronomy.
