Scholarships and financial aid

The annual Wayne State University Scholarship Application period runs from Oct. 1 through March 1. Applicants will be considered for the scholarships listed below, as well as the scholarships available throughout the university, by using just one application.

Departmental scholarships

Dr. Leora A. Shelef Annual Scholarship in Nutrition and Food Science

This fund is established to recognize scholastic achievement, encourage continued progress and provide assistance to students in financing their education in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences.

United Dairy Industry of Michigan Annual Scholarship

The United Dairy Industry of Michigan (UDIM) Annual Scholarship is open to full-time graduate students accepted to the Master of Science Coordinated Program in Dietetics at Wayne State University and in good academic standing. Preference will be given to eligible applicants who have demonstrated an interest in equality, diversity, or social justice through documented participation in community activities, social groups, student clubs, or organizations that support this focus. A minimum of one award of $16,500 will be made annually.

Graduate funding

The Graduate School sponsors an annual Graduate Professional Scholarship competition for tuition awards in the fall and winter semesters. The GPS scholarship provides payment for resident tuition assessments only at the effective in-state* graduate school tuition rate a minimum of six graduate credits and a maximum of 10 credits can be covered in each of the fall and winter semesters.
