NFS student Nazmine Sohi named CLAS commencement speaker
Nazmine Sohi is graduating with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Nutrition and Food Science with Departmental and University Honors.
She has served as the Honors Student Association's Secretary & Vice President and buildOn's Membership Chair & Vice President. She has been involved with a variety of extracurricular groups on campus, including Alternative Spring Break Detroit as one of her favorites. Nazmine has participated in the construction of a school building in Haiti as a buildOn Trek Member for Knowledge and has helped deliver eye-care to those in need in Ghana as a Unite for Sight Global Impact Fellow.
Nazmine is a Zumba instructor, an active player on the Wayne State University Women's Club Soccer team, has completed two half-marathons and is a lover of meditation. She is an aspiring physician and life-coach and will continue her education at medical school in Virginia.
Nazmine values her grandmother's sarcastic humor, a painful belly laugh, happiness, gratitude, and any opportunity to help others win! Her favorite quote is from the ancient Roman playwright Terence: "I am human. Therefore, I consider nothing human alien to me."
