Admissions criteria for
Master of Science Coordinated Program in Dietetics in Dietetics (MS-CPD)
Admission to the MS-CPD is competitive, with class size limited to 15. The application to the MS-CPD is completed through the Dietetics Inclusive Centralized Application Service (DICAS), not through Wayne State Admissions.
Requirements
- Admission to the MS-CPD program requires that you apply through the DICAS platform.
- The application deadline each year is February 1 for the program that starts in the fall semester of that year.
- Applicants will be notified of acceptance by March 1, and we must receive your decision to attend by March 15.
- Application through DICAS requires prerequisite course entry, a personal statement, two professional recommendations, and official transcripts (or a course-by-course transcript evaluation if your degree is from outside the U.S., including Canada).
- The application takes time to complete so give yourself ample time before the submission deadline.
- After admission to the MS-CPD, you will receive instructions to apply to the WSU Graduate School, which is a separate application. Please do NOT apply to the Graduate School until you are notified by the MS-CPD of your acceptance.
Important: Effective Jan. 1, 2024, the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) will require a minimum of a master's to be eligible for the credentialing exam to become a registered dietitian nutritionist (RDN). For more information about this requirement visit the Commission on Dietetic Registration.
Application
The 2025 application period is open. Please follow these instructions
- Visit DICAS to create an account and apply. The deadline is February 1, 2025.
- The fee to apply on DICAS is $50 for the first dietetics program and $25 for each additional program. This is a centralized application, so you can apply to multiple dietetics programs through one application.
- Visit the DICAS Help Center for detailed instructions on how to apply.
- The application requires two professional recommendations completed online by your recommenders. DICAS includes instructions, but your recommender will use this form:
