Figurski wins support for study in Germany

German and History Major Laura Figurski is off to Germany this coming academic year to participate in our Junior Year in Munich Program, and she's received an impressive number of scholarships to support her study there.

They include the Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarship, the Andrew J. and Patricia J. Mikus Endowed Memorial Scholarship, the Timothy Dolan Memorial JYM scholarship, the Max Kade Foundation JYM scholarship, the German area's Faulhaber Undergraduate Scholarship and Concordia Study Abroad Scholarship, and a DAAD Undergraduate Scholarship.

The latter scholarship, from the German Academic Exchange Service, is highly competitive and will cover airfare, insurance, and living expenses for ten months. Ms. Figurski will use this funding to conduct archival research on the role of Communism in Munich between the two world wars. Hut ab! (hats off to) Frau Figurski!
