Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Committee
Our mission
The Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders is dedicated to supporting the rights and identities of our students, faculty, staff and individuals we serve. We will continue to engage in an ongoing dialogue, promote active listening, and reflect cultural humility. We commit to acknowledging and respecting differences among individuals within our department as well as across Wayne State University, the community and our profession.
Eligibility
All faculty and staff who are assigned full-time to the department are eligible to participate on this committee. Voluntary undergraduate and/or graduate student(s) representatives may be included on the committee as available.
Membership
The committee is open to all interested faculty and staff members of the department. In addition, the committee may include one student from each program (B.A., M.A., Au.D. and/or Ph.D.).
Function
The committee shall provide opportunities for discussion of diversity, equity, and inclusion among faculty, staff and students. The committee is a liaison for promoting social justice within the department, CSD professions and community.
