Communication Sciences and Disorders professor hosts Reddit AMA on stuttering

Shelly Jo Kraft, an assistant professor in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, will host an "Ask Me Anything" (AMA) on Reddit.com's science discussion forum, /r/Science, at 1 p.m. on Monday, March 14.

Kraft was invited based on her work on the etiology of developmental stuttering, including genetics.

Kraft studies the biological and behavioral genetics of stuttering, autism, and hearing loss. Other research interests include neuro-anatomical and functional features of people who stutter, auditory feedback, and the relationship between cognition, temperament, and stuttering severity.

AMAs (short for 'Ask Me Anything') were created by the Reddit community as an opportunity for interesting individuals to field questions about anything - and everything. AMAs hosted on Reddit have succeeded in becoming a platform for people to have direct discussions and gain insight into the lives of unique individuals, with some of the historically most popular AMAs including those from President Barack Obama, Sir David Attenborough, Bill Gates, Elon Musk and many others.
