Ryan Ferrante wins the 2020 Advisor Training Academy Award for Outstanding Academic Advisor

The Advisor Training Academy annually recognizes outstanding advisors in four categories. Recipients are nominated by students, supervisors or peers for exceptional dedication, innovation and advising approach. In a most-deserving act, Ryan Ferrante, academic advisor III for the Department of Political Science, was selected for the 2020 Award of Outstanding Academic Advisor. As noted by Kate Bernas, director of the Advisor Training Academy, "An exceptional academic advisor can have a tremendous impact on a student and their success. Wayne State's advisors consistently go above and beyond for their students. Advisors take on so many roles - they provide guidance, but they also serve as encouraging advocates. Their unwavering commitment to students - especially in these challenging times - is an inspiration to us all."

Ferrante has been a department mainstay of Political Science since he joined the unit in 2014. He has guided students through their course requirements and into fulfilling career paths for years. It is gratifying to see this level of devotion and expertise properly recognized.
