Kristina Devine named CLAS senior director of major gifts
Wayne State’s College of Liberal Arts and Sciences (CLAS) has appointed Kristina Devine as the new senior director of major gifts, heading up the CLAS Philanthropy and Alumni Relations team.
Devine joins the college from Wittenberg University in Ohio, where she served as the assistant vice president for advancement and strategic operations since 2020. At Wittenberg, Devine played a pivotal role in expanding the university’s annual fundraising from $6.5 million to $14.7 million. She was also instrumental in the success of the $100 million “Having Light” campaign, which boasted a 34% alumni participation rate and exceeded its fundraising goal by more than 113%.
Prior to her tenure at Wittenberg, Devine held leadership positions at Bowling Green University and the Archdiocese of Washington, D.C. She brings with her a wealth of experience in donor cultivation and strategic fundraising.
“Wayne State has a history for raising the bar and I am proud to join a team that looks beyond the “status quo,” while also being supportive and encouraging of each other through this important work.
