Marsha Richmond elected a 2020 Fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science
The Department of History is thrilled to announce that Marsha Richmond, Ph.D., has been elected a 2020 Fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS). This honor recognizes a career of the highest achievement in research, discovery and support of the sciences.
Professor Richmond has been elected to the section on the History and Philosophy of Science for "foundational contributions to the history of evolution and genetics, particularly the role of women investigators." Professor Richmond joins the august company; AAAS fellows have included such renowned scientists as Thomas Edison, Charles Darwin and Margaret Mead. Two of the 2020 Nobel Prize winners are AAAS fellows.
Wayne State congratulates Professor Richmond for this exceptional achievement which reflects and acknowledges the impact of her career and the major contributions she has made to the field of the history of science.
