History majors present research at 2018 Undergraduate Research Fair
The Department of History was delighted to have four of our majors present their research at the 2018 Undergraduate Research Fair.
Students developed their projects in our research methods courses--the Historian's Craft and the Capstone - as well as other classes, including one on Nazi Germany. They conducted their archival research at regional repositories and using digital collections. We're very proud of the work they've done.
Andrea Ozanich presented her research on the 'Indoctrination of German Youth: Education, Hitler Youth, and Propaganda.' She won first place for her presentation. Congratulations, Andrea.
Ali Kahil presented his research on 'General Henri Mathias Berthelot: Savior of Romania and Founder of Greater Romania.'
Ben Thomason presented his research via a poster on 'The Rise and Fall of Early Hardcore Punk in Detroit.'
David Webb was the one student who represented the humanities and was thus able to present his research on the Michigan National Guard's performance during Detroit's 1967 uprising before a large audience.
Professor Marsha Richmond served as one of several judges.
