Alum Craig Spencer survives Ebola

Craig Spencer, former WSU history major, recently made the news as a survivor of the Ebola virus.

Spencer, who pursued studies in medieval and early modern Europe while with the department, earned a B.S. in biological sciences and a B.A. in history in 2003 before going on to earn his M.D. from the WSU Medical School in 2008.

His work with Ebola patients as part of his work with Doctors Without Borders in Guinea was the genesis of his exposure. Faculty who remember Spencer are not surprised by his dedication and accomplishments.
