Wayne State issues statement in support of alumnus Danny Fenster (M.A. in English)

The members of the Wayne State University community are extremely concerned about the freedom and wellbeing of journalist Danny Fenster, who is being held in prison in Myanmar. Danny graduated from Wayne State with a master's degree in creative writing and has been an important member of our university community as a student and a teacher.

Danny's family, friends and the entire Wayne State community are anxiously anticipating his release from captivity so that he can continue serving with character and dignity in his role as a foreign journalist. The denial of his freedom is an egregious infringement of his rights. We urge the Myanmar government to release Danny immediately and unconditionally.
