Robert G. Diaz was awarded the Andrew Mellon Sawyer Postdoctoral Fellowship at UCLA

For 2009-2010, Robert Diaz was awarded the Andrew Mellon Sawyer Postdoctoral Fellowship at UCLA, with a theme of "Homosexualities: From Antiquity to the Present."

This competitive national fellowship had no teaching component. He mentored the two dissertation fellows for the English department and attended the Sawyer Seminar Series on Queer Studies, which throughout the year, invited 45 preeminent scholars in the field of gender and sexuality studies.
