English professor wins General Education Teaching Award
Adrienne Jankens (Assistant Professor) has received one of the inaugural General Education Teaching Awards for her work teaching courses that fulfill the Written Communication requirement in Wayne State's General Education program. Professor Jankens has consistently delivered excellent instruction in general education courses such as ENG 1020 and ENG 3010, and she has also contributed to the development of cutting-edge pedagogy in the Department of English through initiatives such as co-founding the Composition Learning Community. Professor Jankens was also honored with this award for her outstanding commitment to improving curricula in general education writing courses and mentoring new instructors in the Department of English's Composition Program. Through these activities, Professor Jankens has made a difference in the lives of her own students and in writing instruction within the broader university community.
