English professor receives university research grant
Kathy Elrick (associate professor of teaching) has received a university research grant for a project entitled "Pedagogy of Late Night: News Satire and Critique of Journalism."
Professor Elrick specializes in the field of rhetoric and composition, and her research focuses on the way that The Daily Show with Jon Stewart critiqued news media during its run from 1999 to 2015. Analyzing this program's satirical news coverage through the rhetorical devices of journalism, Professor Elrick will explore the intersection of satire and journalism while arguing that The Daily Show functioned as a form of public pedagogy.
Congratulations to Professor Elrick!
