English professor receives award for innovative course design

Dr. Lisa Maruca (Associate Professor) has received an award for Innovative Course Design from the American Society for Eighteenth-Century Studies. Professor Maruca taught her award-winning class, "Mediating the Global Eighteenth-Century," in Fall 2021. By innovatively combining the history of race and the history of the book, this cutting-edge class allowed students to explore the intersection of communication technologies, social change, and discourses about race.
