English alum Amanda Lewan to receive award
Wayne State University alum Amanda Lewan will be the recipient of the Detroit Young Professionals Vanguard Award this October. Detroit Young Professionals is a nonprofit organization dedicated to the development of the next generation of Metro-Detroit leaders.
The creative writer and marketer has taken the leap from writing about entrepreneurs in "Michipreneur," a publication focused on news and events about the state's entrepreneurs to being one herself as the co-founder and CEO of Bamboo Detroit, Detroit's largest, members-only co-working space.
In 2012, Amanda received her M.A. in English from WSU with a focus in creative writing. She has spent the past seven years working as a freelance storyteller, helping businesses build their brand through storytelling and creative marketing strategies. Amanda has worked with a variety of clients, from small businesses to large technology companies and hospitals, creating original digital content to enhance their web presence.
