Employment and Labor Relations Program
The employment and labor relations program equips students with the critical skills necessary to analyze employment and workplace issues, with a special focus on the needs and interests of workers and their unions. An interdisciplinary program, the labor studies major examines the social, political and economic dimensions of these issues in the context of a broad liberal arts education.
Students will become familiar with employment and labor law, human resource management, compensation and benefits, and techniques associated with the resolution of conflict in the workplace. Graduates will be prepared for careers in business, government, nonprofits (including the healthcare sector) and labor unions, or pursuing a professional degree in business or law.
