Two Chemistry professors earn promotion to full professor
Eduard Chekmenev and Stas Groysman have earned promotion to the rank of full professor on the basis of their accomplishments in research, teaching, and service.
Ed Chekmenev joined the faculty of Wayne State University Department of Chemistry and Karmanos Cancer Center in 2018. His group develops hyperpolarized magnetic resonance (MR). Ed Chekmenev recently received additional support for his collaborative research project: Exploiting Spin Networks and Efficient Catalyst/Substrate Separations for NMR "SABRE" Enhancement of Complex Systems from the National Science Foundation (NSF).
Stas Groysman joined Wayne State University Department of Chemistry in 2011 and his group's area of research is in synthetic inorganic group with research interests in the areas of organometallic chemistry, bioinorganic chemistry, and catalysis.
Recently, Stas Groysman's proposal: A modular single-modular platform for designing heterobimetallic catalysts for CO oxidation was funded by the United States - Israel Binational Science Foundation. The award supports the Groysman Research Group, the Gelman group at The Hebrew University of Jerusalem, and the Lord group at Grand Valley State University.
Congratulations to Ed and Stas!
