Long Luo's U.S. Department of Energy award for critical minerals and materials
Wayne State University Chemistry's Long Luo will be part of a research team led by Peter Sushko of Pacific Northwest National Laboratory (PNNL). The team of researchers also include Yingge Du, Dongsheng Li, and Micah Prange from PNNL; Kelsey Stoerzinger, who is a joint appointee with PNNL from Oregon State University; and Hua Zhou from Argonne National Laboratory to identify replacements for platinum group metal catalysts with more abundant elements. The project will be funded by the Department of Energy (DOE) Basic Energy Sciences (BES) Program to identify replacements for platinum with novelmaterials that build clean energy technologies. Congratulations Long!
