Long Luo to receive Wayne State Academy of Scholars Junior Faculty Award

The Wayne State Academy of Scholars has recognized Long Luo, assistant professor of Chemistry, with the prestigious Junior Faculty Award for 2021. The award is bestowed annually for outstanding academic accomplishment and a significant record of publication or creative achievement resulting in national or international recognition very early in a career.

The Luo group is interested in exploring the new frontiers in electrochemistry. Currently, they are building new electroanalytical tools for detecting environmental contaminants, developing new electrosynthetic methods for preparing functional nanomaterials for catalysis and sensing, and establishing new electrochemical approaches for synthesizing pharmaceutically relevant molecules.
