Congratulations to our January Ph.D. graduates, Gabriel Stewart, Evan Jones, and Paul Hoerner!
On January 6, Dr. Gabriel Stewart did a fantastic job defending his thesis "Imaging Ultrafast Dynamics in Molecules and Surfaces." Gabriel completed his research with his advisor, Wen Li, and committee members; Zhenfei Liu, Tom Linz and Christopher V. Kelly (WSU Physics).
Dr. Evan Jones is the thirty-fourth Ph.D. hatched from the Chow Lab. His dissertation entitled: "Experimental and Theoretical Investigations of Modified Nucleotides" was defended on January 20. Evan's work was completed with his advisor, Christine Chow, and committee members; Charlie Fehl, H. Bernhard Schlegel, and outside committee member, Wellong Hao (WSU Biology).
Lastly, Dr. Paul Hoerner defended his thesis: "Exploration of Electron Dynamics in a Strong Field by Time Dependent Configuration Interaction with a Complex Absorbing Potential" on January 30 under the direction of advisor, H. Bernhard Schlegel, and committee members; Wen Li, Claudio Verani, Joern Putschke (WSU Physics).
