CAN-8 Virtual Lab
CAN8 is a digital language lab that allows instructors to author lessons, practice exercises, and assessment units. Students can record themselves and practice pronunciation while instructors can access lessons through CAN-8 remotely. CAN-8 completely eliminates work with cumbersome audiotapes.
To listen to your class audio materials on your home computer, you'll need to download the CAN-8 software client.
Download
Download the zip folder and follow the instructions included (requires a WSU AccessID).
System requirements
- CAN8 is not available for Mac computers at this time.
- The software will run on all versions of Windows including both 32-bit and 64-bit operating systems.
- Note: Windows 8 and Windows 10 OS may prevent the icon from being created on the desktop. If that's the case, simply look for the client executable (svmgr.exe) in the "Program files/SoundsVirtual" directory, right-click the file and then click "Send to desktop."
- Your PC will need a sound card that can both play and record sound via speakers and a microphone or a headset.
