Sociology meets economics at annual picnic

Fun was had by all at the 11th Annual Grad Student-Faculty Picnic with the sociology and economic departments last week. The picnic, hosted by Sociology Chair Dr. Janet Hankin and her husband Professor Allen Goodman, M.A. Director of Economics, at their Huntington Woods home is a great opportunity for grad students, faculty, staff and their families to meet and get to know each other in an informal setting at the start of the academic year.

Grillmaster Goodman expertly handled the grilling tasks with ease which allowed everyone to socialize. Guests brought something to grill or a dish to share so there was plenty to eat and drink.

The Hankin/Goodman home overlooks the Detroit Zoo and provides a beautiful setting for the picnic. The rain held off long enough for all to appreciate the most recent, but hopefully not last, 90-degree day of summer.
