Sociology Graduate Robert Kahle earns appointments at the College of Charleston

Robert KahleThe Wayne State University Department of Sociology is proud to congratulate Alumni Robert W. Kahle, Ph.D. on his new appointment. With thorough experience in education, research, community service, and philanthropy, Kahle has acquired the roles of Director of Research & Planning and Assistant Director of the Joseph P. Riley Jr. Center for Livable Communities at the College of Charleston in South Carolina.

Dr. Kahle graduated from Wayne State University with a doctorate degree in sociology in 1994. He has also made an impact on the university by co-founding and co-directing of the Urban Safety Program at Wayne State University's thriving Center for Urban Studies.

Bob Kahle, Ph.D. has built a name for himself on a local and national scale by creating and implementing effective strategies which aid the nations at-risk populations. Through his work with various foundations, non-profits, and privately held companies, Kahle has effectively displayed servant leadership, aiding those lacking social services and facing issues such as homelessness and hunger.

Kahle has completed significant work with external foundations but has also served as the head of his own research and planning consultant group, Kahle Research Solutions. This organization began in Michigan and later spread its services to South Carolina, boasting local clients such as the Kresge Foundation, Food Bank Council of Michigan, Big Brothers and Big Sisters of Metropolitan Detroit and the Detroit Economic Growth Corp. amongst others.

Years of hard work have led Wayne State University alumna Robert Kahle to a high point in his career and the Department of Sociology congratulates him on his new appointment.
