ISHE conference - Congratulations Glenn Weisfeld

Congratulations to Glenn Weisfeld, psychology professor, and the current president of the Congress of International Society for Human Ethology, for successfully hosting their annual conference this past week at Wayne State University. The congress was a great success. Glenn reports that the people at the Towers and McGregor were great, and the special events were well received--jazz reception at the Inn on Ferry Street, boat tour of the Detroit River, and banquet at the Detroit Yacht Club. Some people visited the Motown Museum, the Henry Ford Museum, or the DIA. The Inn worked out very well, a dozen people attended the Tigers game Friday, and many foreign visitors extended their stays to tour Michigan. There were quite a few WSU students and faculty in attendance; we probably about 20, and several from U of M. Attendance. This was a very successful congress with five continents represented, and the quality of papers, posters, and keynote speeches was said to be high. Thanks to Glenn this event helped put WSU on the human ethology map. New Scientist interviewed some of the presenters. They awarded three $2000 prizes for the best student papers, which included one to a University of Detroit Mercy student. Good job Glenn.
