Fischer receives Presidents Award for Teaching

Many of the faculty know that Tom Fischer is one of our "superstar" teachers at both the undergraduate and graduate level. He has a genuine enthusiasm for teaching and for students and is known for inspiring students. He is a master teacher because he doesn't go stale -doesn't teach the same thing each time, constantly challenging both himself and the students. He works with and visits high schools and is a key mentor for graduate students organizing the annual "Brain Day" at the Detroit Science Center. This year his activities were recognized by Wayne State - Tom was awarded the WSU President's Award for Excellence in Teaching." Congratulations Tom - and thanks.
