CPGSO Completes Charlotte Apartments Library Project

CPGSO is proud to report the library at Charlotte Apartments (permanent supportive housing for homeless Veterans and those with disabilities) has been completed! Over the past year, CPGSO, with the help of graduate students and faculty throughout the department, has held various events (i.e., Sandwich Olympics, Cupcake Wars, book drive) to fund the furnishings of the library.

Through generous donations and financial support for our events, we put together a library equipped with a kids corner and comfortable seating area.

The following items were donated/purchased for the library:

  • About 170 books and two bookshelves
  • Leather couch
  • A coffee table and two side tables
  • Two lamps
  • Rug
  • Bluetooth floor speaker
  • Chest for the kids corner
  • Children's games and books
  • Wall decals for kids corner decoration
  • Thank you to everyone who assisted along the way to turn this philanthropic idea into a reality. The residents of Charlotte Apartments were extremely gracious and excited about their new space where they can relax, learn, and play.
