Each student spent a great deal of time researching their topics. The conference and the awards conferred provide students with credibility and visibility in their communities.
"Winning the Best Conference Poster Award at Rushton is important insofar as it shows potential graduate programs that I am serious about my research," said Courville.
"The best part of the conference was getting to share my work," said Coleman. "I was able to express my ideas and teach others about an important topic. Communicating with others and hearing their work was truly enriching and fun."
The Rushton Undergraduate Conference for Language, Literature and Culture is an annual conference where research or creative projects by Wayne State undergraduate students are exhibited. Winners receive grants to fund and continue their research.
