Michele Ronnick speaks at Savannah Symposium
Savannah Classical Academy received the 2018 Committee for the Promotion of Latin (CPL) Award for Outstanding Promotional Activity in Schools at the Classical Association of the Middle West and South (CAMWS) Committee for the Promotion of Latin business meeting. The academy is a K-12 public charter school.
The award was based on its February Savannah Symposium "African-American History and Liberal Education: A Celebration of the Life and Legacy of William Sanders Scarborough." Nationally-known speakers included Otis Johnson, former mayor of Savannah and scholar in residence at Savannah State University; Patrice Rankine, dean and professor at the University of Richmond; and Michele Ronnick, professor at Wayne State University.
