# WSU welcomes Visiting Scholar Victoria Booth

The Wayne State University Mathematics department hosted Visiting Scholar Victoria Booth on January 27-30, 2014.

Dr. Booth is a professor of Mathematics and Anesthesiology at the University of Michigan. She gave a series of lectures on "Mathematical Modeling of Brain Networks", in which she discussed models and mathematical techniques for the study of single neurons, synaptically coupled neurons, and brain networks that consist of many, heterogeneous, neurons coupled in complex topologies.

Her talks were very well attended, with representation from engineering, medicine, and several departments of Liberal Arts and Sciences.
