WSU welcomes Prof. Ualbai Umirbaev

Welcome to our new tenured Professor Ualbai Umirbaev. Dr. Umirbaev completed his Ph.D. and his doctor of science degree at the Sobolev Institute of Mathematics in Novosibirsk in 1986 and 1995, respectively. He received the Moore Prize from the American Mathematical Society in 2007 (jointly with his coauthor Ivan Shestakov) for their solution to the Nagata Conjecture.
