WSU Math Corps receives donation from GM Corporation
The Wayne State University Math Corps has received a $100,000 donation from General Motors, for the 2017-2018 program year. This generous contribution will be used to support the Math Corps' 2018 Summer Camp, which will serve 400 Detroit middle and high school students through academic enrichment and mentoring. In addition, the WSU Math Corps features year-round Saturday programs, as well as enrichment courses for elementary school children.
The Math Corps is also a recent recipient of the New York Life Foundations Excellence in Summer Learning Award, recognizing its being one of the leading math programs in the country. The Math Corps is currently using a $3 million National Science Foundation grant to begin a national expansion of the program.
