New part-time faculty brings MDEQ experience to WSU

Portrait of Andrew BahrouThe geology department welcomes Andrew Bahrou as a new part-time faculty member. Andrew currently works with the State of Michigan to implement federal programs designed to protect surface water quality by controlling pollutants in storm water runoff, which routinely involves evaluating storm sewer structures and the water within them.

In the photo shown here, he shines a high-powered flashlight to see through an inconspicuous storm drain.

Andrew holds a B.S. in environmental science from Wayne State University (he was the second graduate of our program, in May 2006) and an M.S. degree from the University of Delaware in marine studies/oceanography.

He is teaching the Environmental Systems Analysis course at WSU in fall 2012.
