Geology students awarded MMLS scholarships
Wayne State geology students LeAnn Germer and Lee Copp have been selected to receive academic scholarships from the Midwest Mineralogical and Lapidary Society of Southeastern Michigan.
The awards support students who have shown marked achievements in the fields of geology, mineralogy, paleontology or lapidary and related arts.
The Midwest Mineralogical and Lapidary Society (MMLS) is an educational non-profit organization founded in 1956 by a group of 28 people meeting at a local rock shop. The society now has more than 200 members and is affiliated with the Midwest Federation of Mineralogical Societies and the American Federation of Mineralogical Societies.
