Geology student receives fellowship

Valentina Taranovic, recipient of the 2006 Department of Geology Undergraduate Student Merit Award, has been awarded a prestigious Society of Economic Geologists Foundation Graduate Student Fellowship.

The SEGF Graduate Student Fellowship Program provides fellowships to students who intend to pursue a course of study in economic geology leading to a Master of Science and/or Ph.D. degree. These highly competitive fellowships range from $10,000 to $20,000 and provide funding for the first year of graduate study. Valentina is among the inaugural fellowship recipients awarded in this new program which is open to students throughout the world with an expressed interest in pursuing graduate studies in economic geology.
