Geology department makes the big time

WSU Geologist and Academic Services Officer Dave Lowrie often appears larger than life, but perhaps never so large as he did recently in a metro Detroit billboard.

Consistent with its motto: "A world-class education in the real world," Wayne State recently saw fit to showcase the Department of Geology in a billboard ad featuring Dave and several WSU students. Dave has been instrumental in providing our students with quality instruction in the GEL 1010 lab (which serves approximately 1,000 students each year!) for as long as any of us can remember.

His enthusiasm for all things geological is contagious and, on any given day, it's not unusual to find Dave sharing his experience with the geology and non-science majors alike. Thank you, Dave - you make the science of geology at WSU a memorable experience for our faculty and students alike!
